Not our fault that ppl don’t know the definition of heatwave. Definition in the uk is: 3 consecutive days with the temperature of a normal hot day. I.e a hot day is 27c in central England - so 3 days back-to-back is a heat wave.

There is no such thing as Afghanistan, rather there is like a few tribes in a few provinces, and nobody wants this arrid waste land so here is a country...... Not even the Taliban is 100% homogeneous. Its all just a bunch of Loose factors all trading and conflicting and living together. The Western forces where never going to succeed in Aghanistan, because it didn't really exsist as a country the way we define a country. If you want to get rid of all the schools in a Western European country it would takes a very very very very long time, Meanwhile it would only take an hour in Afghanistan. Roads, infrastructure, goverment, police, teachers, local councilers, bureaucrats, its was all nonexsistant, so to build a country from scratch its very hard. It usually takes a couple centuries and a hell of alot of will power from the people to believe in this new united front which is very hard if you believe you are Turkmen before anything else for example.

I live in Seattle, and I feel exactly the way the British do. You don’t keep your home any warmer than 72°, so why should it EVER be any hotter outside? I did live for three years in Eastern Washington some decades ago, and I got so I could function when it was 80°, but I never liked it. I also got really tired of the lack of rain. There was no point in looking out the window in the morning when all I would see is that same boring blue sky.
